Using Acrobat 2017 Classic 17.011.30105 and Office 2016 x64, Word does not launch after using Export or Save As and selecting the View Result check box.

Has anyone found a way to automatically launch the Office app after saving or exporting?

Thank you.

Hi LBest,

Could you try resetting preferences for Acrobat using the steps given in this link: How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default.  reboot the machine after resetting preferences and try again.

If issue still persists, download and run cleaner tool on the machine to uninstall Acrobat: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs reboot the machine.

Download and install Acrobat from here: Download Acrobat 2017

Reboot the machine again and check.

You need your Acrobat

Hi lbest,

As per the issue description mentioned above, word doesn't launch when converting a pdf file to word using Acrobat 2017, is that correct?

Could you try rebooting the machine once if you haven't already and try the conversion again? Does that work?

If that doesn't work, try repairing Acrobat using "Repair installation" option under Help menu, reboot the machine after repair and check.

Does this happen only with the word files? Have you tried saving/exporting pdf to other formats like Excel or jpeg? Does that work?

Let us know how it goes.

I tracked it down to a 3rd party add-in (iManage Work FileSite).  I haven't figured out how to fix it but noticed without the add-in the View Result was automatically checked.  With the add-in it was unchecked.  It let me check it but still did not launch Word.

If someone knows what enables View Result, hopefully that will point me in the right direction.

Thank you.
