Some images (scanned from old slides) look normal in LR (and PS) but print with a strong magenta cast. The fact that other images print normally makes me wonder what could be causing these particular images print like this. I am using only color sync profiles. Any ideas?

A magenta cast can be caused by double profiling - i.e. color management is turned on both in Photoshop and the printer driver.
Make sure that color management is turned off in the printer driver if you let Photoshop manage colors and vice versa.

Thanks for the reply, Per.
Color management is turned off in the print driver.

This is handled automatically on an iMac. Printer management is turned off when an ICC profile is selected. Something else is happening here.
