Pixelated rendered video

Hi,

I just tried to export a video with only one effect on it and that is the additional blue color matte above the video. After I rendered it, I god pixelated video like this

When I turn off this layer I'm getting normal video look like this

I even tried to accomplish the same effect by using a color mixer on the video layer and got the same effect after rendering.

Interesting thing is that the video doesn't loose on quality in the preview (before rendered).

Then I tried to do the same process in the Photoshop (video) and got the same effect.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

What other effects or changes did you make to the original video or the color matte? Did you just lower the opacity on the matte? I think we can figure out what's going on if we know more about the situation.

I figured that this effect happens when rendering in h.264 codec (mp4). When render in Quick Time everything is fine except the file is too large.

I even try to render the new good looking .mov file in .mp4, but same thing happened. So there is definitely a problem with rendering that kind of colors in h.264.

I'm glad you have been able to at least get the video exported in some format! I'd like to recreate this on my system so I can see how to make it compatible with h264

Could you tell me some info about the footage? What is the resolution on the video (1080, 4k, etc.) and what are the sequence settings? Any other effects you applied to this other than the color matte? How did you get the color matte to be more transparent (blend? opacity?)
