Images are imported from camera into LR for correction and then exported to Adobe Bridge to resequence to make for better presentation.
Images are then re-imported into LR for purposes of Web display but the images sequence is the same as originally imported from camera instead of the new preferred sequence.
This is happening even tho the original images are deleted from LR and deleted from the computer and the new sequence reinstalled in the computer.
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.
How do you resequence the images? By changing the file name? Then make sure that Lightroom is also set to sort on file name (lower left corner of the main window), not on capture date or something else.

Thank you for your help.
So sorry that I forgot to mention that images have already been renamed (e.g. 001 thru 080) with the new sequence numbers.
Currently using LR 5.
In the future will do what you suggest (which makes sense) but what to do know to erase the memory in LR.?
Thanks again

Hi Johan:
Really appreciate your time and efforts.
Sorry for mistake .. have been rushed all day.
We would like to upload a set of wedding images to the web. The images have been renamed and have a new sequence for storytelling, web presentation.
The new image sequence and numbering of Jpgs is different from the image sequence and numbering that was originally brought into LR (originally the sequence followed the time the images were captured).
Somehow, LR 'remembers' the old original sequence even though these original images have been deleted from LR and deleted from the computer. Amazingly, when the new sequenced images are re-installed in the computer and brought into LR (for Web presentation) LR reverts the sequence back to the original sequence. How does LR remember the images and how do we prevent LR from reverting the sequence back and how do we keep the new sequence in LR??
Thank you again,
Beverly

Lightroom does not remember anything, but it uses information in the files. You changed the file names, but the capture dates are still the same. Like I said earlier: if you see the images in Lightroom in the original sequence, then all you need to do is change the sort order to file name.

Thank you, again, Johan,
We are almost there.
Apologies.. but where on the screen (in import files) do we go to change file name? LR 5 is installed on computer.
Really appreciate your assistance

I’m not sure I understand your question. You said you already changed the file name in order to get the sequence you want, so why would you want to change the file name again on import? Import the images without changing the file name, then set the sort order (lower left corner of the grid, but you may have to press the ‘T’ key first to make the toolbar visible) to file name. See the screenshot that John posted in message #2.

We are on the 'same page'.. I meant "change" to keep the new sequence order we want. Thank you for guidance since we didn't know how to get the sort criteria ..file name until you said to press the T to make toolbar visible.
Will mark correct. Thanks again

Do you mean to Remove the images from LR?
If so then there is NO need to do that. LR is a Database program. There are no images IN LR. The images are Referenced into the LR Catalog file, A Database file, from where they are stored on your hard drive.
If you never open LR again, Never import images, Reference them, into the Catalog file again or even uninstall LR your images will still be on your hard drive (Or Drives) where you placed them or where you selected LR to place them during your previous imports.
If in the future you need to get images off a cameras memory card you can use either the File Manager for the OS you are using to Copy them to a folder on your hard drives or Bridge has a Built in Photo Downloader program which can be run by itself or from inside Bridge.
If you never plan on using LR again then all you have to do is Delete the LR Catalog file and the Previews folder and uninstall LR from your system. You will regain the hard drive space used by the program, catalog file, Previews stored on it.

What is the point of using Bridge here? And then re-importing? Are you not making work for yourself?
If you want the files in a certain order, drag them around in Lightroom's grid. You'll see the toolbar changes to Custom Order.
