When importing photos into Lightroom Classic CC (Release 8.0), there is no "File Renaming Pane" in the right-side panel of the import module.  Adobe's online description of LIghtroom Classic CC says there is a File Renaming Pane.

Anyone have any ideas on why the File Renaming Pane isn't visible?

The Rename panel is only available when you select 'Copy as DNG', 'Copy' or 'Move' in Import window (top centre). You've probably selected 'Add'

If you did select something other than 'Add', and you still see no File rename panel, then you may have hidden it. Right-click in an empty space of one of the other panel names. A contextual menu will come up with the option to toggle the visibility of the panels.
