I'd like to know if this is how bookmarks always work in Acrobat 11 Pro or Adobe Reader 11? Or is this only the default behaviour but there's an option to make them highlight even when being on pages located after bookmarked pages?
I did some texts and found out that this was possible in Adobe Reader 5 and 6 by default. I didn't see it in AR 7, 8 or 9. I even opened the same several PDF's I used in other PDF viewers or editors, some highlighted the bookmarks always, as desired, some others only on bookmarked pages.
Any information would be appreciated.

Yes, only when the linked-to page is viewed. There's no other option.

Sad to know that .Especially when it existed in older versions.
But thanks for replying!

Are you sure? That's strange...

Yes, I'm sure. I just opened again two PDF's in Adobe Reader 6 to double-check and their bookmarks remain highlighted. Adobe Reader 5 did this, too, but I had to previously save them within Acrobat XI as version 5 so they can be opened.

Can you post a screen shot? I don’t remember this behavior at all.

Here's a GIF. I scroll and though some pages aren't bookmarked there's always a bookmark highlighting.

I guess they changed the implementation of it.
