Is there a way to create custom glyphs in Illustrator/InDesign?

I'm working on a project where I will need to use the dollar sign ($) a lot, but the current font glyph look too different from the rest of the letters and the normal capital S. I would be awesome if there is a way to customize the glyph, so I don't have to make a lot of changes to the weight of the current font or use another font's glyph.

Fingers crossed.

You could use a GREP style in InDesign to change just dollar signs to another font.

No, you can't change the font or snuggle in a custom glyph.

What you can do in InDesign is use "inline objects", that is: have images flowing with the text.

…snuggle in a custom glyph…"

What a wonderful expression.
