So, here is the thing.

Im new to PP and Im editing 4k 60FPS Footage (shot with GoPro Hero 6 Black) and whenever I want to preview something its extremly laggy, even the music lags. Preview Resolution is set to 1/2 (1/4 isnt better as well). Memory Preference is set to Performance (Memory didnt help) and 26GB of my 32 are reserved for PP only (currently using 12GB).

System:

32GB RAM

GTX 1080Ti

intel i7-7700K

Dont really now what to do, maybe the system is to weak to give me a floating preview without waiting, but I thought that it would be strong enough.

So long

Hi, thanks again for the information mgrenadier

Thanks also to Jim_Simon

I first tried to create proxies in .h264 720p, but after about 3 minutes PP shut down for no reason and the converting process in Media Encoder stopped. After setting it to Quicktime and 720p Cineform the converting works like a charm. I don't know why .h264 made this problems, but for now it works. Maybe I'll need a solution when not shooting with GoPros.

create lower resolution proxies that are linked to your clips.  You can then quickly switch between viewing the original and the proxy in both the viewer and program monitor.

It's not simple or intuitive but well worth the effort.

You can also lower the viewing resolution.

Hi, thanks so far.

Im gonna go for the proxies and give it a try. Is there anything I need to reset before I render my comp at the end, or is PP automatically using the original footage files for rendering instead of the proxies?

I recommend using Cineform proxies with that media.
