No timeline or playhead.

I am trying to edit but nothing comes up on the panel where I'm supposed edit??? no timeline or playhead, nothing! Can anyone help me?

You need to put the imported footage into a new sequence before it can be edited.

Drag the clip to the New Sequence icon (the 4th icon on the bottom right of the project panel, looks like a sheet of paper).

Did you create a New Sequence? File > New > New Sequence or CTLR+N?

Go to the Menu Windows > Workspaces > Reset to Saved Layout.
