Hello guys,
I'm trying out CC 2019 after using CC 2017 for a long time and I've noticed that the feature "Selection Follows Playhead" doesn't work like it used to.
Before when I scroll through the timeline, the playhead always selects the following clips as intended.
Example: https://media.giphy.com/media/69sQsVy21yKyeoyECY/giphy.gif
Now in CC 2019, if I click or edit a transition and continue to scroll, the playhead will no longer select the clips that follow.
Example: https://media.giphy.com/media/2WGSwpq7Z3yK4ZCJd0/giphy.gif
This causes me to have to do an extra click on the clip I want to select to continue, which takes up more time (especially with hundreds of clips).
How can I change it back to the way it worked before?
Please let me know! I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
FYI, this issue should now be fixed in the Premiere Pro 13.1 update that was recently posted.

Try resetting the preferences:
FAQ: How to reset preferences in Premiere Pro?
If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
- Do one of the following:
- Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
- Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.
from here:

If that doesn’t work,,try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site.

I am seeing the same behavior, when a transition is selected the playhead does not catch on to the clip when moving the playhead around.
I though it was me..........

This might be an intentional change from Adobe. You're manually selecting something. I can see why the editor would not want the auto-select to function in that case.
Deselect first, then auto-select resumes. This behavior makes sense to me. I would consider it an improvement.

I hope not as I find it annoying.

We manually select clips all the time. Why would we turn on the option to have the playhead autoselect as we scroll if it's just going to stop because we manually selected something.
It worked perfectly fine before.
They should revert this change.

My thinking is that an editor manually selects a transition, then moves the playhead out of the way, and that transition is no longer selected.
I can see how that get's frustrating. I can see the possibility that Adobe made the change on purpose.

You can simply press "D" (Select Clip at Playhead) when you are done working on your effect to go back to the clip. No extra clicks needed. I'm with Jim_Simon, I like the way it is working...

Thanks for that Keyboard shortcut tip.
Still disappointed but pressing "D" is less taxing for me than clicking.

This was not an intentional change and is currently under investigation. I cannot give an ETA, but the hope is to have it fixed as soon as possible.
