You could also try and run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility and remove all traces of Reader and Acrobat then try again.

I did try some of the suggestions that were mentioned in someone else's post and they didn't work for me. I'll make my own post. I did see something mentioned about issues with SP3 ...
Hey, do you have a link for the cleanup utility from MS (didn't look yet, just thought I would ask in case you had it handy! ;))

it didn't work. :( I don't know what happened, but it certainly got messed up.
I did a full reformat/reinstall and now things are fine. Clearly it was my system, but dang if I know what caused it. :(
I am pleased that my Adobe isn't broken any more! ;) -
