Acro 8 and 9 different behaviours

I created an interactive document in Acro 8.1 pro and attached a response form (made in Livecycle). When I open it up in Acro 8 reader I am able to move through all the pages of the document and then select the form which is shown in the left hand side column. In order to go back to the document all I need to do is select cover sheet and I am back in the main document.

However in Acro 9 if I select the form there is no way to go back to the document once the form is opened. Selecting cover sheet keeps me in the form display. The only way I am able to go back is by closing the form and reopening the document. Unless I am missing something this could be problematic when some recipients are Acro 9 readers and some Acro 8.

Is there a way to go back to the main document after selecting the form? or some tweak required. Using XP3 and both Acro 8 and 9 professional.

      Many thanks

My apologies _ I was not clear - if the respondent opens the document in Acro 9 reader - the respondent once having read through the document then selects the response file, fills it in and submits it.

However should the respondent want to go back to the main document, there is no way other than closing the form and reopening the document from scratch. Selecting coversheet keeps the form display.

In acro 8 reader, one just has to select cover sheet and the respondent is then back into the main acrobat document.

I was wondering whether one needs to select or create a button to go back to the document for Acro 9 readers.
