Unable to enter numerical values in Bridge CS4 Output

    Ralph Eisenberg Community Member
I just tried to use Output to see if it might be a serviceable replacement for Contact Sheet II, which I use almost exclusively in the field. I therefore installed CS4 on my 2.5 GHz, 4 Go Ram MacBook Pro running 10.5.5. I was unable to enter numerical values in the Layout fields for Columns and Rows, Because of this, I installed the Contact Sheet II plug-in (but not the Bridge scripts) and had no difficulty configuring it in my accustomed way, entering appropriate numerical values in the relevant fields.

From my limited experience with it otherwise, Bridge CS4 seems very good, the upgrade really went seamlessly, and it is a nice surprise and a pleasant environment. I wouldn't object to having a checkbox in the PS CS4 general preferences for launching Bridge on PS opening, that is, as it was in PS CS3.

The output menu is not yet what it could be but it is already promising and can be useful in many situations, you should take some time to explore it. But I to have the contact sheet scripts installed (including the Bridge script that is now reachable in the tools menu).

About the start-up, there is a pref in Bridge to start the application at log in, although this is automatically set to hide at log in. If you don't want that you can easily change this in the systemprefs under user accounts - login and deselect the check mark in front of Bridge

          EDIT:
I forgot to mention the main subject, you should be able to alter the values for column and row in the lay out panel in Output Module (if I can, so should you...), there are also different templates for more layouts on the goodies CD.

Thanks very much for your reply. I'll have to see if this is just a problem on my specific set-up or a more general issue (so that I don't have to do time-consuming troubleshooting). Good to know that there are more templates for layouts on the goodies CD.

If if you install those Scripts, you will disable Bridge CS4's ability to use its Output panel.

The optional Photoshop CS4 Plug-ins appear to be safe but NOT the Bridge Scripts.

The Output/Layout/columns & Rows settings certainly works for me.

Have you tried trashing your Bridge Prefs.? And did you Repair Permissions before and after installing the new software?

                Hi, Ralph

You should be able to download the legacy Contact Sheet II plug-in from this link and follow the instruction to install it.

Install the Bridge script should be compatible with Output panel. They won't fight with each other. :-)

While I still wondering that what happen to the issue you met. Could you input any numeric value to other input box, such as Top, bottom? Did you have the IME open while input the numeric value?

                Thanks
                Kathy
