Adobe DE ebook list wipes upon each shutdown

I have to add e-books back in that were previously added. Every time I shut down the program, everything disappears again.
Very annoying to have to wait while DE adds all the e-books back into the library listing.

Is it a setting that I'm missing? Or is this a common occurrence?

Also, bookmarks wipe, because the e-books bookmarked were wiped on shutdown.
All e-books are in the default directory created by DE.
