Digital Editions Disappears when ebook is opened

I open DE and the books appear in the library. I double click on a book and then DE totally disappears. I have tried re-installing, re-downloading, and just about everything else I can think of, but I can't seem to resolve this issue. The entire program simply disappears.

Sigh, was in such a hurry that I forgot to ask for help! The program worked for a while, then when it was moved to a different hard drive it decided to not work anymore. Is there a way of uninstalling it and then re-installing it without losing your ebooks? I can't get it to do anything except show me that I have all my books, but when I go to open one it simply disappears (doesn't even show up in the windows task manager or anything).

Whatever you do, don't try to move programs between hard drives!
Especially, doubly especially, DRM programs. See if you can put it
back.

JoJosCircus, Can you tell us what OS and version you are running on? I assume from "windows task manager" it is WIndows, perhaps XP? When you say "it was moved to a different hard drive", what do you mean exactly? DO you mean you changed your hard drive? Or you had two drives and moved the app and/or books between them? I assume by "simply disappears" you mean the app closed?
