Installing Digital Edition fails with the following error message in the Application log:

Faulting application digitaleditions2x0.exe, version 9.0.467.27, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.

The install uses Adobe Flash; is there a way to download the install file without using flash?

Now I'm trying Digital Edition 1.5, but I still get a failure:

Faulting application digitaleditions1x5.exe, version 9.0.791.27, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.

Troy, this is more likely a crash launching digital editions (not a problem with the install itself). That address is odd though. I'll ping engineering and see if they have any thoughts.

In the meantime, please open a support case at http://www.adobe.com/support/contact and post back the case number.

You are still on 1.0. Please uninstall manually (if needed) and then go to

http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/

And install the new 1.5 version. Thanks.

I can't uninstall 1.0, because it never installed. At least, it doesn't appear in the Add/Remove control panel.

There was a problem with the Akamai cache (internet caching scheme). This is now resolved. This may well have been the cause of the problem. Please retry the install and let us know if you still have the same problem.

Troy, can you open a support web case on this and post back the case number here? I'll have one of the senior agents work with you to help determine the cause of the problem (please point them back to this thread as well).
