Hello,

I just tried running Digital Editions on my Windows Vista Ultimate machine, and I was required to upgrade to 1.5.791. I have a single book. During the installation I got an error dialog with the following:

Error converting license
Source File: GoogleSketchup_For_Dummies.pdf
Failed to rename document
Source File: GoogleSketchup_For_Dummies_1.pdf
Output File: GoogleSketchup_For_Dummies.pdf
--- end ---

I can view the book icon in Digital Editions 1.5, but if I attempt to open it, I get:

Internal Error - document already failed.

I haven't been able to find anything in the knowledgebase and the support address digitaleditions@adobe.com gives an automated response saying that eMail support is no longer available.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Ted,

First of all, I'm VERY interested in knowing where you found the information that 'digitaleditions@adobe.com' was still used for support. That address was retired in April, but many people still send mail to it (and we don't know why).

Support is now available via web case only at http://www.adobe.com/support/digitaleditions.

The only error of this type I'm familiar with is documented here:
"Error converting license" when installing Adobe Digital Editions

http://www.adobe.com/go/kb403460

If that doesn't turn out to be the problem please open a web case.

The reference to 'digitaleditions@adobe.com' can be found by selecting the "Adobe Digital Edition Help" menu item or pressing F1 for help. Next click the Support Center link, and you will see: "If you are not able to find a solution in the forums, contact the Digital Editions support team: digitaleditions@adobe.com."

I am going to try uninstalling and reinstalling again.

Sadly, there was a web team error which incorrectly rolled back the /support/digitaleditions page to an old version. That's fixed now. I do appreciate the info..

Let me know how your reinstall goes (both of you).
