Highlighting function missing

Adobe DE feature lists states that the highlighting text function is available through the Bookmarking feature. When I click on Bookmarking, I can create a bookmark or add notes but I can't highlight any text. Highlighting text is very important to me. Any ideas on how/why it's not working?

Select the text and then click the bookmarking button.
