1. Re: Mesh Tool distorting artwork.
Kurt Gold Feb 28, 2008 12:26 PM (in response to Skullmaker)Which version of Illustrator are you using?
If CS 3, it might have to do with scaling the mesh objects with the Free Transform tool. A major bug in CS 3 only that has been discussed here several times. -

Wade S Zimmerman Feb 28, 2008 2:41 PM (in response to Skullmaker)Well you should have done an undo hopefully you did. If you want to transform an object made up from the Mesh tool the work around is to use the selection tool for rotating and scaling and the shear tool for shearing. -

Skullmaker Feb 29, 2008 6:04 PM (in response to Skullmaker)Thank you everyone for your help!
Kurt, you are right, I am using CS3. What I am doing right now is design my illustrations in CS2 re-size them to the size I need, and then transfer them into CS3. It is frustrating but what else can I do? Next time I will wait before I buy the next version.
Thank you both of you! -

NotInUse Feb 29, 2008 9:56 PM (in response to Skullmaker)I sure wish they'd FIX THIS BUG!
Only solutions I know of... use the scale tool rather than free transform. Use the Effect > transform in some cases. Go back to CS2.
It was presented quite some time ago... immediately after the 13.0.0 release. 3 updates later.. no help. *sigh*
