Steve Werner May 27, 2008 4:05 PM (in response to cgrscott)No announcement has been made about other components of the Creative Suite 4. You'll have to wait until the announcement is made. What were the requirements for the beta of Fireworks? -

cgrscott May 27, 2008 4:14 PM (in response to cgrscott)Soundbooth requires OS X 10.4.11 or later, but only runs on Intel-based Macs like its predecessor, Soundbooth CS3. -

cgrscott May 27, 2008 4:17 PM (in response to cgrscott)When I first mentioned the system requirements for Sound Booth I meant to speak of Fireworks, which has the same system requirements as Dreamweaver CS4 -

(Jane_Tarver) Jun 10, 2008 3:17 PM (in response to cgrscott)I heard some buzz that INDD CS4 could be released as early as September 2008. Have we heard anything? -

Dov Isaacs Jun 10, 2008 4:24 PM (in response to cgrscott)No you haven't. Even persons who are doing beta testng for Adobe are not given release dates.

Buko. Jun 10, 2008 5:21 PM (in response to cgrscott)Adobe probably won't be releasing ID by itself since its a suite application -
7. Re: InDesign CS4
cgrscott Jun 11, 2008 4:44 AM (in response to cgrscott)The Adobe Labs web page has beta versions of Dreamweaver CS4, Fireworks, and Soundbooth if the Adobe Labs web page makes available a beta version of InDesign CS4 for download with a known expiration date on the beta installation, then we will have some rough idea as to when IDCS4 might ship. -

I assume you mean "in advance of the Suites", since InDesign has always been available as a separate purchase. -

That depends on Adobe's cash flow. If they need quick money, they've been known to put out "premature" releases.
I think that Acro 9 is a good example of this. Nothing really there to rave about other than a speed bump (real or imagined). Acro 8 touted the same thing, but it was still a flop speed-wise. 9's not much of a bargain at all and arguably not worth the $159 price tag. -

Buko. Jun 11, 2008 10:16 AM (in response to cgrscott)But bundled with Fireworks its not a bad deal and it will make the jump to CS4 a little lower price if the past is any indication. -

Mr. Met Jun 11, 2008 10:32 AM (in response to cgrscott)Oooh I was just going to pay upgrade to get Fireworks. My designer went to a seminar on fireworks last week and has been bugging me to get it. I still have the Macromedia stand alone version. -

The "rave" depends on ones needs--there are some new features (mostly in the Windows-only Pro Extended version). However, most other features have been improved enough to make the upgrade worthwhile. -

Are you aware that with Acrobat 9 you'll be able to convert process
colors to spots?

14. Re: InDesign CS4
cgrscott Oct 30, 2008 12:40 PM (in response to cgrscott)I took InDesign CS4 (6.0) for a spin on my Dual G4, under OS 10.4.11. IDCS4 is perfectly speedy and launches faster than my installation of InDesign CS3 (5.0.4).
In some areas of the app, IDCS4 seems more efficient than IDCS3, on my G4, even though the system requirements are PowerPC G5 or multicore Intel processor.
Thanks Adobe for making IDCS4 fast enough on my G4! I'll move on to Intel Macs eventually. -

What can i do about it (Powerbook PPC G4)?
Thanks. -

P Spier Jun 22, 2009 8:18 AM (in response to cgrscott)Remember that you cannot upgrade individual programs if you acquired them bundled as a suite -- it's all or nothing.

cgrscott Jun 22, 2009 9:42 AM (in response to P Spier)In have not yet acquired any version of Creative Suite. I'm piecemealing my upgrades, bit by bit, to Universal Binary apps so that when I buy a Mac Pro, with Snow Leopard, a year from now, I will already have the hardware compatible Adobe apps to run on it. I hope to upgrade from Photoshop CS4 to what ever version of CS Design Premium is shipping, after CS4.
