Editing Text Wrap path in CS4

Selection, removing and moving nodes around for a text wrap path in IDCS4 is infuriating. Seems there is only a 1 or 2 pixel area to grab a node. Editing text wrap paths has become an exercise of click, undo, click, undo, click, undo, click, resleect the direct selection tool, reselect the object, select the pen tool, click, undo, click, undo, click, YAY finally!

Is there any way to increase the selection area to make it actually possible to edit these paths with ease again?

As it is with all previous versions. That's number 2481 on Adobe's long overdue things to fix.

I don't think there is any way. Marque selection will select objects and points, but ignores wrap paths. The only way to select multiple points is to Shift-click on them. There is no way to delete more than one point at a time without breaking the path.

Actually I had little issues in CS3 doing this. CS4 seems impossible.

In CS3 it was no problem to grab the Pen tool and individually click nodes to remove them. In CS4 the nodes aren't even selectable 80% of the time.

I'm not seeing any difference between CS3 and CS4 in this regard, although it's not something I do all that often, so perhaps my recollection of CS3 are inadequate.

Scott W, I have noticed this exact frustrating flaw/problem. In CS3 it almost defaulted to selecting the point first. Now in CS4 it wants to select the "handlebar" of the point first. This is in reference to adjusting text wraps using the direct select tool. I too was looking for and adjustment or something to change in Preferences or somewhere to fix this. Ahhh! Did you ever hear how to correct?
