FYI - customers with new Office takes over proof PDFs from Indesign & more

FYI - I sent a customer a PDF proof from Indesign CS3 for greeting invitation. Normal job - same cover as last year. Has a light shadow behind the text and logo over photo. They now have Office 2007 - it defaults when installing to opening all PDFs in Word. All they see is a blue box instead behind the logo and text. They do not see anything with transparency or shadows anymore.

When I asked them to save the file to the desktop and open in Adobe Reader, they could see the file perfectly.

This concerns me as many clients are now updating to Office 2007 or have it on new computers. I thought many of you would like to know so that if a customer complains about what they are seeing, check whether it's opening the Office Word PDF reader or Adobe Reader.
