In our Flex project (using LC DS 2.5 currently) we begin by doing 3 fills. Two of the three come back with commitRequired == true, even though we obviously haven't made changes at this point--just executed a fill(). The fills are work fine. The ArrayCollection objects filled are bound to user interface items such as lists, comboBoxes, etc. Could this be somehow triggering a "change"? Or is this an issue in 2.5 that 2.6 would fix?
We can provide more detail about the database layout (joins, etc) if that would help. We figure someone must have seen this behavior before :)
