Is there any way to embed an Excel spreadsheet into RoboHelp? I tried the "Import" function and the "Save as PDF" function but no luck.

Hi docman2 and welcome to our community

If you men "embedding" as you can with placing content like this inside Word, where a live link is maintained and any updates to the spreadsheet also update Word, the answer is no. You import into RoboHelp and it converts to HTML. One time shot.

But you can sort of achieve this by simply adding the Excel spreadsheet as a baggage file and creating a hyperlink to it.

Just a thought... Rick

And a good one, Rick. Thanks. The problem is that my client does not want to reference a public folder for the spreadsheet location. I can place the spreadsheet(s) in a subfolder of SSL, but the client is directly installing only the .chm files for their online help - at this time.

There is a great product called Crystal Xcelsius from Business Objects that
embeds Excel spreadsheet functionality (around 150 Excel functions can be
delivered) and compiles into single Flash files which can be dressed up with
great looking interfaces - e.g., dashboards (I am just a user - not
connected with the company.) The Flash file can then be inserted into
RoboHelp as with any other Flash file.

Not sure this will give you what you want - and the product is not cheap -
but just thought I would suggest the possibility.

Thanks. I'll keep this in mind but my client is rather "thrifty" and frowns on excessively cost add-ons, expecially given that this is only a small part of the project. If I can get them to provide access to a folder in their network, the problem is solved.
