Microphone issues.

I've spent about 5 hours trying to figure this out and I'm at my wits end.

Regardless of what I do, Captivate will not recognize, or use my microphone.

I try to calibrate it and the level indicator never moves. I know for sure the mic works, as I use it in other applications, including voice recognition.

I tried using a microphone from my Logitech USB webcam, which works in other apps, and I tried a generic desktop microphone which also works in other apps.

I'm using Windows Vista, and this is extremely frustrating.

Anyone got any ideas?

Hi viruseater and welcome to our community

Unfortunately, you are in uncharted (and unsupported) waters, as Captivate is not yet "Vista ready". As I understand it, the next release will be.

First of all thank you for the response.

Second of all thank you for the recommendation. I downloaded and installed the patch. It worked perfectly, and it DID resolve my issue.

The microphone works now as expected.
