Hi

I got a new pc and copied the files from one pc to another.

Now when i try and generate a new chm file for my manual my hyperlinks and bookmark links are not work.

In the TrueCode view you can see the following:

<li class=kadov-p><p><a href="../../Animations%2c_Skeletons%2c_AnimHierarchy_%26_AnimMixer/Skeletons/Assigning_CAPs_to_Joints_in_the_Skeleton.htm">Creating
the Complex Physics for the Skeleton</a> <img src="../../../image999.gif"
x-maintain-ratio=TRUE
style="border: none;
width: 15px;
height: 16px;
float: none;
border-style: none;
border-style: none;"
width=15
height=16
border=0> <span style="font-weight: bold;"><a
href="../../Animations%2c_Skeletons%2c_AnimHierarchy_%26_AnimMixer/Skeletons/Assigning_CAPs_to_Joints_in_the_Skeleton.htm">ShowMe</a></span></p></li>

After generating the chm file the source code for the same page says

<li class=kadov-p><p><a href>Creating
the Complex Physics for the Skeleton</a> <img src="../../../image999.gif"
x-maintain-ratio=TRUE
style="border: none;
width: 15px;
height: 16px;
float: none;
border-style: none;
border-style: none;"
width=15
height=16
border=0> <span class="hcp3"><a href>ShowMe</a></span></p></li>

<li class=kadov-p><p><a HREF="Viewing_the_Rigid_Body_asset_for_a_Complex_Physics_Asset.htm#Adding a collision Primitive to the Rigid Body">Editing
the Rigid Bodies for the Complex Physics Asset</a></p></li>

I got our web person to spot this. I dont know what is going on.....

Also the chm file is reference the correct *.html page and when i look at that in internet explorer the links are fine. Even when i preview the page using Robohelp the links are fine.

Can you possibly give me any advise as to what is happening please.

Because of work i have to used the HTML version of the manual. But generated the webhelp version too, to see if i was getting the same problem, and that one is working fine, truecode and sourcecode are the same. So now i a well confused.

Regards

Anita

Hi AnitaUK

Inside a .CHM file, bookmark names typically fail if spaces are part of the name. I'll bet if you remove the spaces, the bookmark links begin working.

Cheers... Rick

Hi

There are no spaces in the links, bookmarks or external links if you read the text i have put

the first a ref link says <a href="../../Animations%2c_Skeletons%2c_AnimHierarchy_%26_AnimMixer/Skeletons/Assigning_CAPs_to_Joints_in_the_Skeleton.htm">

and after generation of the chm it only says <a href>

somehow the ="../../Animations%2c_Skeletons%2c_AnimHierarchy_%26_AnimMixer/Skeletons/Assigning_CAPs_to_Joints_in_the_Skeleton.htm" has been removed .....

that is my problem

The "%2c_" in the output generally indicates a space in the source, which of course prompted Rick to answer as he did.

Have you investigated that, yet?

Good luck,
Leon

hi i corrected the code manually in the truecode tab to

<a href="Assigning_CAPs_to_Joints_in_the_Skeleton.htm">Assigning
CAPs to Joints in the Skeleton</a>

and after a new generation i am still getting the source code blank in the chm file as
<a href>

but manually checking the html file the links are there. I again dont understand why in the chm file the a ref has a stripped out bit of code.

ok, think i am getting somewhere, when i move the files over to my new machine i got a problem with a particular set of folders which just happen to be the animations ones i am linking to.

Is there are a way to duplicate the files into a new folder - and see the if the animation folder structure has corrupted itself. Or is the safest way to manually create a new folder and new topics then re-write the whole chapter again.
