1. Re: CS4 crashes when working with 720p clips
(Wil_Renczes) Oct 26, 2008 9:30 PM (in response to juskocf)The only suggestion I can offer is to make sure you're running the latest version of QuickTime. -

3. Re: CS4 crashes when working with 720p clips
(Yuwei_HU) Nov 3, 2008 11:13 AM (in response to juskocf)I have the same problem...
No need to import any video
Just create a project..
Add a 720P(1280*720@30fps) sequence..
And click the sequence to open in timeline window..
It just crashed...
But it goes well with timeline window closed...
btw, I'm running the latest version of QT.
I'm now running a project which is 720P
And it didn't work at all. -
4. Re: CS4 crashes when working with 720p clips
fuaho Nov 3, 2008 6:40 PM (in response to juskocf)Just wasted an hour trying every flavor of export available in AME. 99% crash ratio. First thing that is glaring is that all the presets are DV.
Next thing is that if you stretch the aspect ratio to 1280, the constrained proportion becomes 853 not 720.
I did manage to export once at that ratio using 29.97, lower first, 8-bit and of course it looked like crap with huge blocky pixellations in sky areas, etc.
Will not export as 30 fps, will not export as progressive, will not export 1280x720. -

shooternz Nov 3, 2008 7:11 PM (in response to juskocf)What do you mean "all the presets are DV" ?
How and where are you "stretching the aspect ratio" ? -
6. Re: CS4 crashes when working with 720p clips
Eddie Lotter Nov 3, 2008 8:41 PM (in response to juskocf)Yuwei, I created a sequence with the settings you mentioned and do not experience any crashing. I'm running CS4 under XP x86 and Vista x64.
Cheers
Eddie

7. Re: CS4 crashes when working with 720p clips
fuaho Nov 3, 2008 9:20 PM (in response to juskocf)@Craig Howard:
AME Export Settings
Format: Microsoft AVI
Preset: All selections are DV
Setting up a Custom Preset:
Video Codec: LEAD MCMP/MJPEG Codec (2.0)(VFW)
Codec Settings:
JPEG 4:2:2
Quality: 64
Interleave: default
Decompression: Enable
Basic Settings:
Quality : 90
Width: 1280 and if Constrained is selected, it defaults to:
Height: 853
(If I unlock the constraint and make it 1280x720, it CRASHES)
Frame Rate: 30
Field Type: Progressive
Aspect: Square Pixels (1.0)
Render at Maximum Depth
Audio 44.1kHz 16-bit stereo or 48kHz, 16-bit Stereo Makes no difference.
CRASHES, CRASHES, CRASHES.
I was able to get one interlaced encode at 29.97, lower first, that looked dreadful. Blocky, pixellated, ugly. That is the only time it has ever completed making an avi file that played. A Microsoft RLE codec completed the output but would not play in Windows Media Player.
And here's the thing:
Using the same footage with the same codec I am able to get beautiful Hi Def 1280x720p, 30fps, square pixel, 44.1kHz avi file exports from PREMIERE 6.0! Everything is the same except AME, so it's not like there is no baseline or background upon which I'm basing things.
