Since CS4 absolutely refused to run on my quad-core with GF8800, I had to roll back to CS3. But I see they still have not issued a patch that adds XDCam file readability to AE. Will this ever occur?
The only reason I upgraded to CS4 was for the AE native XDCam capability, but since none of the video programs run on my hardware, I'm back to CS3 and the many workarounds, such as rendering out an uncompressed file at 1920x1080, editing that in AE and rendering that back out... too many render steps and too much quality loss.
Adobe issued an XDCam update for Premiere Pro, so why no AE?

Very, very,very likely > not <.

Apples and oranges again. If I recall correctly, the PPro stuff is based on a reference implementation without much additional code required, as the program itself already has several of the prerequisites in place. The effort for AE would have been considerably greater.
