Hello all! I have a HD commercial 1920 x 1080 that needs to be rendered with the mpeg 2 codec. When I render using the mpeg 2 format, the extension automatically is m2v, with the audio in a separate file. In order for our server to take this commercial to air, it needs to be mp2 with the audio attached.
I am using AE CS3 8.0, Mac OS X 10.4.10, 2x2 GHz Dual, 4 GB ram. Thank you in advance for any assistance
You should never render to codecs that look and perform better with multi-pass rendering in After Effects because AE doesn't do multi-pass rendering. MPEG relies on mp compression to make the best images. I'd suggest rendering to a lossless codec then compressing that render using a 3rd party app. Even QT Pro does a fairly good job of mp rendering.
