    slowing down

    Community Member
i have just installed soundbooth on a new imac 3.06 model, i tried to record from a mini disc, it wouldn't and now is so slow as to be unusable.........it won't play any soundfile.
what should i do? do i need to re install the software and if so how do i uninstall and then reinstall without having to reinstall all of cs3?

      hoping for a positive reply

      cheers

          Michael,

Can you elaborate on the problem a bit more? What was the problem that prevented you from recording from your minidisc player? When you say Soundbooth is slow, what do you mean? Is it slow to respond to any click or command, or when you open an audio file, does it playback at a very slow speed?

You probably don't need to reinstall. My first suggestion would be to hold down the SHIFT key when you launch Soundbooth, until the main editor screen appears. This will reset all of your preferences to the default settings. Next, I would open the Preferences, choose MEDIA, and click the buttons to Delete Temporary .pek and .cfa files. Then, open an audio file and let me know what happens.

When we know playback is fine, then we can take a look at why you were unable to record from your minidisc player.

          Thanks,
          Durin
