Running a CHM file from a networked drive

Hi - Could you point me in the right direction.
when I copy the help file (*.chm) upto a shared folder on the server, and create a short-cut on the users desktop. They get an error of Page not Found.. Running the file locally, even from another partition, or from say, a USB drive it works perfectly. So what am I missing??
