1. Re: Newsreader that will organize posts by thread ignoring unique identifier
P Spier Apr 6, 2009 11:25 AM (in response to Kenneth Benson)I read them in Outlook Express, as I always have, and they're pretty schizophrenic, but I suppose I'm used to it.
So far I come to the web to respond, just to be sure I see everything current, but I'm screwing up my courage to move into the new century and try an email response.

Kenneth Benson Apr 6, 2009 11:32 AM (in response to P Spier)Thanks, Peter
The email responses work (this one is from email). I'm just thinking
there must be some software specifically written to organize posts like
this. I belong to a few other email lists, but they come in with
consistent subject lines, so each subject comes in threaded.
Maybe I'll get used to it this way. :^)

3. Re: Newsreader that will organize posts by thread ignoring unique identifier
Dirk Becker Apr 6, 2009 11:32 AM (in response to Kenneth Benson)Related discussion is in the "Forum Comments" forum.
E.g. http://forums.adobe.com/message/1869445#1869445
I'm also reading by email, even though the web page is almost ok with a little help from a user style sheet.
Also annoying with emails is the permanent "[Forum name] New Message:" prefix in the subjects, and all the copied header info above the message content. If this is not fixed in the next few days, I'll probably write a little AppleScript to reformat the mails.

Perhaps from Thunderbird, but not here. I think it's becasue OE is removing some brackets from the address (can't locate the post at the moment, and even if I could, I don't think I can get them back). I've tried twice and they both bounced.

BobLevine Apr 6, 2009 12:30 PM (in response to Kenneth Benson)I defintely miss the NNTP but I'm going to get around to setting up some Outlook (not express) rules and see if I can keep this reasonably organized.
