    Reconnecting missing files

    Community Member

I had a terrible moment recently when I was notified that I was running out of space on my hard drive. I went in to a 'panic' mode. First let me say that I have well over 10,000 photos on my hard drive. Therefore, I decided to spend a day deleting a large number of them, approximately  3,000-4,000. Moved them to the 'garbage pail' and then deleted them all. I then noticed that Windows had a site which houswed a number of my photos. I felt there was no need to have them in Windows and Photoshop Elements 7, so I deleted them as well. Now everytime I want to do something with the remaining photos I get '?' which is telling me to reconnect the missing files. I spent two days trying to reconnect well over 7,000 photo's, to no avail. I might also add that I recently scanned several hundred photographs, fixed them and saved them. They seem to be giving me the most trouble. Someone, please help me. I'm going out of my mind, fearful that I will lose my photos. I don't want to reconnect them, do I have to? What is the reason for them to be connected?

      HELP!!!!!
