Email Hyperlink Opens Empty Browser Window

I've created a hyperlink to an email address using the E-mail address hyperlink option in PowerPoint.  When I publish the PowerPoint file with Presenter, the link opens my email client, but it also opens an additional empty browser window (see attached screen shot).  This empty browser window does not open if the link is clicked in PowerPoint's Slide Show mode or when exported to HTML - so I'm guessing this is a Presenter issue.

Does anyone know how to prevent this additional empty browser window from opening or have any other suggestions how to setup an email link? em

Thanks!

This is happening to us here too, and driving me crazy.  I keep getting trouble tickets opened up for the form I developed based on this, but I can't see any way for me to solve it.

Not only does it open an emptry browser window (while also opening a new mail message in my mail client), but it actually launches my web browser in order to do this, even if I've previously closed it!

Help, anyone?  Why on earth is my browser getting triggered by Acrobat Pro / Reader for email links?

Thanks,
Eric

Hi,

Please follow the below instruction to resolve this issue :-

Go to installation location (for 32bit Presenter, for x64 go to "Program FIles" folder ):-  C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Presenter 9.0\Templates

Rename viewer.swf to viewer.swf.old

Copy the attached viewer.swf to the location.

Publish your project again

Check the issue.

Thanks,

Vikram

Oops, I just realized you're talking about Presenter, but I'm experiencing the same problem in Adobe Reader.

Any chance you know how to fix this issue when encountered in Adobe Reader?

Thanks for responding.  It's nice to know these forums are being monitored!
