    img tag attributes test

Dang! I either have to learn modernized code for putting "vspace" next to images in the HTML message composition area, or these forums don't respect the code I'm writing.  Funny thing—the "vspace" and "hspace" attributes seem to appear in the "full editor" but not in the message body once it's posted.

And I sure would like to know what flavor of HTML or XML or whatever they're checking against in the HTML editor, because I haven't visited too many other places that are as strict as the input/parsing here.

And if anyone is reading this who might know:

What form of coding do I need to brush up on in order to get simple things like spacing around an image to work?

Inline css, since we've got no head to put the style sheet in.

                    <img style="margin-right:10px; float:left;" src=http://home.comcast.net/~phoz/bbs/cactuscd.jpg>Lorem ipsum etc

Note no quotes round the image source, like you usually have.

OK, veddy good then. I kinda figured it was something like that, but having gotten so used to the old style attributes, and having been prevented from using css in so many other places I wasn't sure exactly how to generate that space next to the image. As for the quotation marks...I've been on forums that require them for the image code to work, so I figured I'd use them here, since other parts seemed so strict.

And all that doesn't even mention that I generally hate code and suck at it anyway.

Time to add some new code snippets to my TextExpander utility.

                        Thanks, Kath.

While you're paying attention here, there's something else you may want to be aware of, and get sorted out for yourself.

I was fixing up the Eyedropper FAQ ( http://forums.adobe.com/thread/370727?tstart=0 ) and really had to work to get that image to show up at full size. The forum kept wanting to resize and compress it, when I wanted to have it display at exactly the size it is. It did things to the image I'd never seen before; parts of the resized image looked like they were smeared, as if they were still-wet water color markers, while other parts of the image remained looking almost original.

Haven't posted enough images to get the whole process and the restrictions sussed, but I'll manage to eventually.

If I continue to bother with the forums, that is.

???? what image are you referring to please? That's an FAQ by Buko?

It was inspired by a small spate of people asking the same question about the Eyedropper sampling color into the Background swatch instead of the default location of the Foreground swatch.

I answered the question in the main forum with the image.

Buko composed and posted the FAQ, but he didn't really answer the question as it was asked. He gave a workaround (tapping the 'X' key to switch FG <--->BG swatch colors). I begged for weeks, and finally got my image added to the FAQ. When the FAQ came across fromWebX to Jive, my image disappeared.

J.C. recently gave me FAQ access.

So I fixed it. Now it answers the question as asked.
