    A beautiful thing.

      I'm encoding a 1080i AVCHD sequence to MPEG-2 DVD.

All eight 3.2Ghz cores in my workstation running above 95%.

      Sweet.

How was your editing experience?  What are your computer specs and what Mbps did you use on your camera?

            What are your computer specs

and what Mbps did you use on your camera?

It really is a beautiful thing to see a happy satisfied user on these forums.  It is to easy to forget about all the success stories when you have only problems and complaints in front of you if you frequent this forum daily--some times hourly  Thank you very much.

And no, I do not work for Adobe or for that matter anyone (except my wife) at this point in my life.

I am very pleased with the AME encoding process.  Of course anything can and I am sure will be improved.  Encoding my HDV projects to MPEG 2-DVD I have seen CPU usage run from 65% to 95%.

I have temporarily overclocked my dual Xeon E5410's (2.33 GHz) system to 3.0 GHz (about 29%) and for my MPEG2-DVD encoding and gotten a reduction of about 21% in encoding time.  Of course I do not advocate overclocking for video editing, but it was a simple (no cost) experiment to see what the more expensive CPU's would do for me.

Seems kind of a waste of RAM there.

The machine dual boots XP Pro 32 and Vista Business 64.

It was booted in XP for this customer's work.

                    Ah.  That makes more sense.
