Can't transcode a project - constant error messages

I've been trying to transcode a project for a couple of days now. It's a 6 part project that I bring together in a PPro project and then send to Encore. I've had success transcoding it before, but, suddenly, after some changes to titles, I'm having trouble transcoding. It's an hour long project when put all together.  I had added markers in the first transcode attempt, which failed, so I deleted them and started again. The lastest error message looked like this and occurred at the end of the 7 hour transcode:

Error parsing MPEG metadata file. Deleting or renaming "E:\......PROJECT LOCATION ADDRESS....\sources\transcodes\projectname_video.m2v.xmpes" will allow you to import, but any markers will be lost.

After I clicked ok, I got my encore browser back with the project appearing as untranscoded - as it appears when it is first brought into Encore.

      Any ideas?

          Jessica,

Can you tell us a bit more about your Project? What version of En are you using, and if CS3, or CS4, how are you getting your Assets to En? Along those lines, if you are doing an Export from PrPro, what file formats are you Exporting as, prior to Import into En?

Have you tried an Export from PrPro as DV-AVI elemental stream and either PCM/WAV, or AC3 elemental stream for Audio? If not, try this as a "test."

I also have to comment that a 7 hr. Transcode is not the norm. Using DV-AVI and AC3's, I get full DVD-9 Transcode in half over real time, i.e. a 4 hour DVD-9 will usually Transcode in a little less than 6 hrs. With a 1 hr. Duration, something is not right, unless your computer is horribly slow. What are your system specs.?

          Good luck,

[Edit] it also appears that the error (is this in En, or PrPro?) to be coming from either the muxing (PrPro), or de-muxing (En) process, as the .XMPES file is most often used to mux an MPEG file. That has me puzzled.
