1. Re: Installed CS3 on new Vista Ultimate 64-bit laptop and having problems
Dov Isaacs Apr 25, 2009 5:45 PM (in response to E Diane King)Check Adobe's knowledgebase via Adobe's website for CS3 and Javascript. I believe there is a known issue and known workaround. FWIW, the problem is not something that always occurs with CS3 and Vista Ultimate.

BobLevine Apr 25, 2009 5:46 PM (in response to E Diane King)First...CS3 should run beautifully on Vista 64 (with the exception of Vista Home Basic).
With that out of the way, do you have any scripts installed besides those installed with the program? Did you accept the default installation location?

3. Re: Installed CS3 on new Vista Ultimate 64-bit laptop and having problems
E Diane King Apr 26, 2009 5:49 PM (in response to BobLevine)This was a fresh install on a new computer. I had errors with the install that appear to be common with Acrobat Pro on 64 bit computers. It crashed the install and I had to remove what had installed and retry the install from scratch. I clicked past the error on the Acrobat Pro install on the second try and was able to get the full suite to install, but it's not functioning correctly. ID is the only application I've used at length so far, and I've run into the two errors I mentioned in the original post.
Should I try the install again? I had to get a phone activation because my other laptop fatally crashed before I could remove the suite, so I don't want to have to deactivate and activate the software again.

E Diane King Apr 26, 2009 5:51 PM (in response to Dov Isaacs)I searched the database before I posted my question on the forum. I found a couple mentions on it on other non-Adobe forums, but there were no answers. Nothing came up on the search in the Adobe knowledgebase. I searched just for the error code.

5. Re: Installed CS3 on new Vista Ultimate 64-bit laptop and having problems
Dov Isaacs Apr 26, 2009 6:00 PM (in response to E Diane King)CS3 came with Acrobat 8 Pro which had significant compatibility problems with 64-bit versions of Windows. You will need to update Acrobat to 8.1 to get proper operation under Windows 64-bit.

6. Re: Installed CS3 on new Vista Ultimate 64-bit laptop and having problems
E Diane King Apr 26, 2009 6:04 PM (in response to Dov Isaacs)I'm not having problems with Acrobat. I've done all the updates and Acrobat seems to function just fine--though I've only opened files to read in it. ID is the problem. The enter/page break problem is really driving me batty.

spaldinghm Jul 15, 2010 10:06 AM (in response to E Diane King)This same problem is happening to me. I've installed CS3 on a new PC running Windows XP. The full error message is:
JavaScript Error! Error Number: 30619 Error String: An item with that name already exists. Line 428
Can anyone help?
