When I import Powerpoint slides into my Captivate show, the animation displays, but the sound effects in the Ppt slide don't play in Captivate. The sound file comes from Clip Organizer and is a Wave file and opens with Windows Media Player.
I really need to finish this show, could somebody please help? Much appreciated!
Hi there
If the file is in WAV format try this. Click Start > Run, type sndrec32 into the Run dialog and press Enter. This should open the Windows Sound Recorder application. From inside Sound Recorder, click File > Open and navigate to the WAV file. Click File > Save As and choose the Change... button at the bottom of the dialog. Make no changes and click OK. (this action should convert the format to PCM encoding)
Now that you have changed the file try importing into Captivate again and see if it

Hi there
The sound files may be added to Captivate after you get the PowerPoint in there. Basically you may add the sound at either the slide level by displaying the Slide Properties, then clicking the Audio tab and choosing the Import button. Or at the object level (add to Buttons, Click boxes, Text Captions or other objects) by editing the object properties. Again, you click the Audio tab and choose Import.
The audio may exist in either WAV or MP3 format.
Hopefully this helps nudge you in the right direction... Rick

Hello Rick,
Thanks so much for your reply - I've tried importing the sound file attached to the slide, but get the message "unable to decode and import the selected wav/mp3 file". It will import one of the sounds that came with Captivate, not the transferred one from Clip Organizer in Powerpoint.
