Please excuse me for posting this again, but I cannot find the answer to this.
I have created a Master Page so that the Title appears automatically at the top, using menu > Insert > Fields and Variables > Title, as Rick suggested, and saved it.
When I create a new topic with this Master Page, the heading does not display automatically like it did in RH7, 6, 5... It is blank. So I cannot see what is actually there, unless I do a Ctrl+W Preview every time I want to check a topic title:
Why doesn't the Title appear in Edit mode? What am I doing wrong? (I cannot believe it's supposed to be like this.)
it's interesting that when I view the Master Page, I can see the title there OK.

I think perhaps you may have added the field in the wrong spot.
You need to ensure it is added in the Body section.
