Thrill Media May 6, 2009 4:08 PM (in response to hotphoto)Since you traded out your cameras for a couple of DV cams I would not go back to 6.5. CS4 is a better editor. Why don't you give the DV cameras a shot with CS4, you won't be dissapointed.

hotphoto May 6, 2009 4:12 PM (in response to Thrill Media)I am so used to having a transition track and such, it just looks so different to me, what are a few of the main advantages I should think about?

You might as well aproach it as learning a whole new NLE from scratch, that's how diffent it is.
...well chopping is still chopping but there are so many more things you do with the foootage now.

jdmack01 May 10, 2009 4:46 PM (in response to hotphoto)I am just learning CS4, though I still have 6.5 on my computer, so I know they can co-exist.
I feel your pain in not being able to see the transitions on their own line, and not having an option for that. However, the fact that you can add transitions to any video line and not just V1 is so exciting to me that I'm willing to live with it. Finally, I can use transitions on text over video!

6. Re: CS4 return to 6.5
Curt Wrigley May 11, 2009 3:44 AM (in response to jdmack01)Though PPRO has no A/B mode like 6.5 on the main timeline, it does display the transitions in A/B mode in the effects control mini timeline so you can see it visually as you are used to.
