problem microphone and captivate

I hve this problem: Captivate doesn't see my microphone. my microphone works correctly. My audio card is not a realtek but a SoundMax...Can you help me?

I can only offer the obvious. Make sure the microphone is plugged into the 'MiC" jack and not "Line In", and use the audio port that is the machine default, instead of a port on an after-market audio card.

I guess more important, whereever the Mic is plugged in, unplug is and try it soemwhere else - just not the buildings electrical power.

I had this problem and eventually found there was a patch by contacting Captivate support
