Populating dd lists

Hi,

I've just installed Adobe Pro 9 yesterday.  I'm using Live Cycle to design some forms.

I wanted to use a drop down list from our db.  Even though this worked, it does not let me expand the list.  So I tried to generate a list of my own as a test.

Select dd list -> Object -> Binding -> Default Binding = None

When I try to select "Specify Item Values" I find that it's greyed out.  Anyone know why is this?

Did you set up a dataconnection to the DB so that you coudl pick the column that shoudl be bound to your list?

Yes I did set up a connection.  I can see the table that I selected in my data view.  The data does display in my dd list but not in sequential order.

Aside from my data, what's worrying me is I don't seem to be able to generate a list manually ie "Specify Item Values" is greyed out

My guess is that you do not have Dynamic Properties turned on. Go to Options/Bindings and turn them on this way:
