1. Re: How to Import CS3 Brushes into Version V7
Chris Cox May 20, 2009 1:24 PM (in response to suzzie12)You're trying to load brushes saved in Photoshop 10 into Photoshop 7.
Nope, not gonna work.

suzzie12 May 21, 2009 4:54 AM (in response to Chris Cox)I understand that these brushes do not presently load...I am looking for a workaround!
Is there some converter program, some load it into here then resave it and then it will work, or some other non standard way of getting these brushes to come over. They are BOTH .abr file formats.
Thanks

Zeno Bokor May 21, 2009 5:12 AM (in response to suzzie12)you could try saving the brushes in a normal .psd file. Make a new blank layer and click once with the Brush Tool to create single dab of it. Repeat for each brush and then just open that .psd in v7 and redefine the brushes

Chris Cox May 21, 2009 11:58 AM (in response to suzzie12)Just because 2 files have the same extension does not mean that the contents of the file are even remotely similar or compatible with older versions of an application.

suzzie12 May 21, 2009 12:59 PM (in response to Chris Cox)Chris,
Yes, but one can hope sometimes... that files with the same extensions... from the same company... would sometimes possibly work out!!
But In this case... NOPE!
I like the previous posters creative idea... that would actually work, the idea of providing the user with a PSD file with individual stamps on it... and remaking the brushes.. its quite a task in this case... but possible.
Anyone ever create a converter between the incompatible .abr to .abr files? Or some other kind of workaround?
Thanks for any info that can help
Suzzie
