I am using PowerPoint 2003 SP3 and when I try to use any Adobe Presenter menus, I get the error message:

Adobe Presenter is unable to read the narration for this presentation.
The following file is incomplete or invalid:
C:\ ....... \Media.ppcx
Adobe Presenter must remove the invalid file to continue loading.

Adobe Presenter was unable to remove the file.

I am using Presenter 7.02
I have tried brand new presentations from blank templates in multiple folders.

Has anyone seen this error before?

Best regards
Colin Davis

Colin,

I am having the same issue, beginning today, using PowerPoint 2002 and Presenter 7.0.2.  It doesn't allow me to do anything under the Presenter menu.  If you find a resolution, please pass it along; I will do likewise.

Thanks,

Mark Handel

I am also having this problem but I upgraded the computer to Office 2007 and that didnt seem to help.  If I open the files on another computer it works fine.  I was going to remove Presenter and reinstall it and see what happens.  I will post my results.

Uninstall/reinstall of the presenter software fixed the issue!

Uninstalling and re-installing worked for me, too.  Now, back to work!

Hi

I am also facing  a similiar issue! I am using Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 with Presenter 7.0.2 Build 7464. Everything seemed to be working fine till I tried to open a slidedeck on my computer. This slidedeck was having the same traits i.e.it didn't allow to do anything under the Presenter menu.

Ever since, I opened this slidedeck on my PC, none of the functions on the presenter plug-in seems to be working. I get this error message for any click on the presenter plug-in: "Adobe Presenter is unable to open the narration in this presentation. The narration file for this presentation may be in use by another program or user, or it may be read-only. Try saving the presentation to a new file or location with File/Save As."

I also tried saving the above said file to a diffent location/ computer but none of this would work! I don't want to uninstall/reinstall presenter. Is there any other solution? Please help.

I tried recreated the system profile but that didnt help in my case.  If you really dont want to remove presenter I would try that.  If a new profile doesnt work the next step is to remove presenter and reinstall it.  It only takes about 5 minutes to uninstall/reinstall vs a new profile which could take hours depending on how much data you are moving...

Would anyone know what could cause this?

There were some errors in the Event Viewer, but nothing that would indicate the cause of this. they all seemed to be errors caused due to security.

The one that I found to be most relevant reads:
