My associate has sent a zip file with a chm and chw file through mobileme idisk. The chm file opens with a navigation to web page error. See the attached screen print. I downloaded the zip a second time to no avail. Help is much appreciated.

This could one of two things. Firstly if the zip and CHM file are on a network drive you won't be able to see the contents. Extract to a local drive and see if that works. See here for the reason why. If it is on a local drive, you may need to unblock it. Click here to see how.

The .chm file was downloaded to my local drive in a zipped file. When I open

properties, there is not an unblock option. What am I missing? Thanks, K

I think you may have inadvertantly forgotten to attach the file

The direction I see here is way beyond my expertise but I am going to give

it a try. Gads! I just need to get some work done, I know you've all been

there.......... There is no network or IT dept to deal with so I will try

the simpler remedies for a start. Thanks for the direction

I used the following method and it worked! Thanks for your help.

In the File Download dialog box, click Save, and then choose where you

want to save the .chm file. Then, use one of the following methods:

Method 1

1. Double-click the .chm file.

2. In the Open File-Security Warning dialog box, click to clear

the *Always

ask before opening this file* check box.

3. Click Open

Hi there

Does this mean that before you were clicking a link to a CHM on the web, then simply attempting to run it from there without downloading it? If so, that would certainly explain things.

Cheers... Rick
