Adobe-Please FIX Flash Player! CPU/Memory hog on Mac OS X

    bubbadoonyc Community Member

Each time I encounter Flash on a web page (read: ALL the time) my CPU usage gets throttled to the top, real memory / virtual memory goes through the roof, and my fan starts blowing away.

Flash is effectively making the web terribly annoying to surf.

I'm on a relatively recent MacBook, 2.2Ghz Intel Cour 2 Duo with 4GB or RAM, running the latest Leopard build.

I second your complaint. apparently many others do as well, judging by the many threads on this topic. I have a Macbook (circa 2007) that works fine for browsing, unless flash player plugin goes active, then my system slows to a crawl. I have to open the Activity Monitor utility and shut down FP to get back to normal. I guess Adobe doesn't care because this have obviously been a problem for years (again based on the many threads) and nothing has been done to fix it.
