Simple Flashing/Blinking Text

I'm a novice at this, so excuse me if this is really a simple (i.e stupid) question.  I am adding some updated information to a page and I want the text to flash or blink or have a moving border, similar to what is possible in Word.  But using the marquee and DHTML attributes, I can't seem to find what I want.  I don't want the text to move in from the right or left, slide in, etc.  I want the first word of the paragraph (NEW!) to blink or flash, so the rest of the paragraph can be read without the text moving.  Also, i want this to happen when the page loads, without a person having to mouse over the text, so GLOW is not a good option.

Can someone help?  I'm using RoboHelp HTML 7.02.001.

Thanks!

Hi there

You may wish to simply use an animated GIF image for this purpose.

Look at this link for one example and use Google using the terms animated gif new to find others.

Cheers... Rick

Rick,

My firewall is blocking the site. I'll try Google in the next few minutes

and get back to you.

Rick,

Unfortunately, I've tried several different sites and when I copy or paste them in, the animation ceases to work or I get a black box.  I didn't see anywhere that I could copy the actual code.  I'll keep trying other options.

Thanks.

Hi there

An animated GIF is simply a GIF image. Nothing special about it.

Shoot me an E-Mail back at rstone75 (at) kc (dot) rr (dot) com and I'll send you a couple to play with.

Cheers... Rick
