We have several RoboHelp Office X5 HTML and RoboHelp Office X5 for Word projects that we manage, none of which is under version control. We just purchased RoboHelp 8.0 HTML and would like to use it with RoboSource Control 3.1.
Can RH 5 and RH 8 be installed and used on the same PC?
Brian
Hi there
That's my setup. I've got RoboHelp HTML X5, 6, 7 and 8 all installed side by side and nobody is throwing rocks at each other.
Just note that you cannot use 8 to edit an X5 project then expect to still edit the project in X5 later. 8 will change the files and make it impossible to revert.
Cheers... Rick

Hi Rick -
Just FYI, I was warned by an Adobe support tech that installing RH7 would irreversibly change my X5 RH for Word, making it unusable. I decided to proceed because I don't use RH for Word any more. I have no idea what exactly the problem was, or if the same thing would apply to RH8, but I figured I'd through the info out there, in case it was relevant to anyone.
Like you, I've got RoboHelp HTML X5 through 8 installed on my PC. The only issue I've run into is that RSC 3.1 refused to install until I uninstalled RSC3.0. However, I was able to easily uninstall RSC3.0 while I was testing RH8, and reinstall when I was done.
