Does the document you are attaching have Save rights applied?
Actually no. I thought this would be only meaningful if the embeddee had been modified.
In the API reference, it states:
Note: For Adobe Reader 7.0 and later, this method is allowed if the document has file attachment rights,
but the document to be embedded must have document Save rights in case it has changed.
Does it mean Save rights should always be required, or only in the case the to-be-embedded document is in a modified state and needs to be saved?

However I've just tested on a document with Save rights, and it still yields the same error...
How is it possible to check that my container document has effectively file attachment rights enabled in Reader ?
Did you apply the Reader Extensions through Acrobat or with a LiveCycle Reader Extensions Server?
I am able to manually add attachments to the document through the Reader interface, so I guess the rights are properly set.
Is there any kind of real-world example I could use to fix this? Because the documentation on this method is not really prolific.
